The Coastal Services team in Bridlington are asking people not to use the town's paddling pool for washing dogs, bikes or bait boxes.
The town's large paddling pool is located next to the Princess Mary Promenade chalets on the South Promenade and is supposed to be for children to play and have fun in.
East Yorkshire's Coastal services team say they've had a number of reports of people using the pool in other ways.
The team say:
"Recently we have become aware that people are using the pool and channels to wash sand off themselves and their dogs, rinse out bait boxes and fishing tackle, rinsing clothes and riding bikes.
There are showers provided at the back of the pool for rinsing and washing off.
Please help us keep it a safe and clean environment for children."
