A North Yorkshire counselling charity is asking the public to help design a local counselling service for the people of Scarborough.
Malton-based counselling charity Community Counselling is asking residents of Scarborough for their input in designing a new adult counselling service in Scarborough. The charity will be applying for funding to develop and deliver this service but would like to hear views of the local community, so that the charity can provide the best service possible.
Community Counselling has already launched a children’s counselling and play therapy service in Scarborough and Whitby with funding secured from the Woodsmith Foundation. It will now do the same for adults living in the Scarborough borough.
Deputy Manager Ellie Johnston says:
‘We know this service is needed in Scarborough; we are frequently contacted by residents of Scarborough asking for help. We currently don’t have the capacity to support them, which is why we need to secure more funding. If you live in the Scarborough area, please complete our survey to help us identify what is needed in Scarborough.’
