A section of the path has been closed at Staintondale.
North Yorkshire Council says it has taken the decision to close a section of the Cinder Track due to damage.
The Cinder Track team say a diversion has been put in place following reports from members of the public about the state of the path adding,
"Thank you to those who have alerted us to the path damage at Stainstondale. After careful consideration we have decided to close this section while we await funding to fix the damage caused. We apologies for any inconvenience.
We do have a diversion in place so users can continue to enjoy the Cinder Track."

The diversion for walkers is 1.75km long while the diversion for Cyclist and Horse riders adds 6.65km.
