Filey is to have improved Christmas lights this year, but how they are funded after that is now up for discussion.
The town Council has voted to enter into a three year deal with a new supplier to install a new electrical system and Christmas lights display
The first year costs will be covered by money from North Yorkshire Council and Yorkshire Coast BID, but after that the town will need find around 38 thousand pounds a year to fund the scheme.
