The sale of supermarket carrier bags is being used to fund food bags for Scarborough foodbanks.
Social Actions Centres such as The Rainbow Centre and The Westway Open Arms, are benefiting from the continued support from local retailers including Proudfoot, who have been helping out with the launch of their Carrier Bag Donation since last year.
Back in 2015 - Proudfoot came up with an idea on how they could help - Director Valerie Aston explains how the Carrier Bag Charitable Donation works.
And since 2015, the help has extended even more into the Scarborough area.
Proudfoot distribute over 50 bags of food each week. The average cost of a food parcel is between £50 and £80, depending upon the size of the family.
Both The Westway Open Arms and The Rainbow Centre rely on the kind donations of Proudfoot and other retailers in the Scarborough area, without which, they would not be able to support the families.
