Overnight between 19 June into 20 June, damage was caused to the One Stop Shop wall on North Marine Road in Scarborough.
Police say a window and a side wall have been damaged with graffiti of a racial nature.
As part of the investigation, two young males have been shown to be in the area around midnight.
Officers are appealing to the local community to get in touch should they have any information which can assist the investigation.
