Call Out for Bridlington and Flamborough Rescue Teams

Bridlington Coast Guard Rescue Team and Flamborough RNLI were called out yesterday to rescue a woman with a broken ankle.

The Coastguard team were tasked to reports of a female casualty on the beach by the lighthouse in Flamborough. Team members arrived on scene and met with the first informant who indicated that the casualty was down in Selwicks Bay in an area known as ‘The Limekiln’

Coastguard Rescue Officers made there way to the casualty who had a suspected broken ankle. Due to the location and terrain a stretcher extraction wasn’t possible so Flamborough RNLI was requested so that the casualty could be extracted by boat back to South Landing.

The casualties ankle was stabilised, casualty then secured in a basket stretcher and carried to the boat by Coastguard and RNLI crew.
