Saint Catherine's Bring a Pound to Work Day has raised over £4,300 for the charity.
The event yesterday saw people along the Yorkshire Coast contribute to the fundraising by either taking their pound to work or by donating online or via SMS text message.
The event saw teams from Saint Catherine's, The Scarborough Business Ambassadors and This is the Coast collect coins from hundreds of businesses in the area stretching from Whitby to Bridlington and as far inland as Malton.
The full total wont be know for a few days as the cash is quarantine for 72 hours as part of the events COVID safety measures.
Ellie from Saint Catherine's says it was a great day.
The total is likely to increase further as a number of retailers were holding bucket collections yesterday which will arrive over the coming days.
Anyone who still wishes to donate to the appeal can do so either online or via SMS text message.
