Bridlington Stages Armed Forces Day Event On Saturday

Bridlington is hosting it's own Community Armed Forces Day on Saturday.

The event begins at 11:30am with a memorial service at the Bridlington War Memorial on Wellington Road and will pay tribute to Royal Engineer Staff Sergeant Malcolm Banks, who lost his life in Northern Ireland in 1972. 

The service will take place before the Armed Forces parade from the War Memorial in the town before they walk through the streets to the RNLI station on the foreshore. 

Ex-Military Vehicles will be displayed in front of the RNLI boat house. 

There will also be entertainment, Royal British Legion Riders,Ex Service associations outside the Yacht Club and military displays. 

At 2pm, there are hopes that an aircraft formational flypast will take place but this is subject to weather, aircraft serviceability and permissions.
