The Seasiders want their first win of the new season, in Derbyshire, on Saturday.
It’s a trip to Derbyshire up next for the Seasiders, as they take on Belper Town in their fourth Northern Premier League match of the season.
After losing 1-0 on the opening day against Carlton Town, the Seasiders have picked up back-to-back midweek draws: 1-1 away from home against Brighouse Town and most recently a goalless encounter against Liversedge at the Mounting Systems Stadium.
It was goalkeeper Sebastian Malkowski, on loan from Worksop Town, who kept Bridlington in the game on Tuesday evening, producing a number of sensational saves and earning his first clean sheet of the season.
Josh Barrett made his first appearance for the club after an injury lay-off, coming off the bench in the 71st minute. Curtis Morrison and Nathan Doyle were both still missing, but are close to a return.
Belper have had a strong start to the campaign, as they picked up maximum points in their first two games against two sides new to the Northern Premier League East Division.
They travelled to Heaton Stannington on the opening day, where they picked up a 2-1 victory before beating Bradford Park Avenue 1-0 at home just three days later.
In the FA Cup Preliminary Round, Belper progressed after defeating Lutterworth Town 3-1 to make it three wins to kick start the season. They’ll host Southern League Premier Division Central side Bromsgrove Sporting in the First Qualifying Round on 31st August.
They did however pick up defeat on Tuesday evening, losing 3-1 away against last season’s Northern Counties East League Premier Division champions Emley AFC, despite taking the lead after 17 minutes.
A strong Belper side did the double over Bridlington last season as the two games were played just under a month apart at the start of the season. In September, Belper came to Bridlington and picked up an emphatic 5-1 victory.
The clash in Derbyshire was a lot closer, as the Nailers only won 2-0 in a much more even contest.
