Bridlington Town Club Captain Departs

Bridlington Town say that club captain James Williamson has left by mutual consent.

In a statement on the club website Bridlington Town said:

"Obviously Willo came off injured against Trafford with a hamstring problem, hence why he was not included at Bishop Auckland.

After discussing his personal life changes with Denny it has been mutually agreed between James and the club to cancel his contract.

All at Bridlington Town thank Willo for everything he has done for the club and the special memory of him lifting the East Riding Senior Cup at North Ferriby last season.

We wish him all the very best in whatever he decides to do on and off the field. We also hope he is not a stranger and visits us at The Mounting Systems Stadium when time allows."

The outgoing skipper said:

"I’ve loved my time at Bridlington Town and would like to thank all the volunteers, coaching staff and fans I’ve met along the way. I wish nothing but the best for the club and I’m sure it’s a club on the up and I will be at future games as a fan.

I’ve decided to step away from football for now to take some time to spend with my family."
