Following the announcement from the government that all non-essential retail can reopen from Wednesday 2 December, the volunteers of Bridlington RNLI shops have rallied round to ensure that both shops can reopen safely in December for the build-up to Christmas.
The shop on King Street will reopen on Wednesday 2 December and the shop attached to the lifeboat station on the Promenade will reopen on Friday 4 December.
As before, strict social distancing measures will be in place in both stores, but customers will be welcomed back to do their Christmas shopping, whilst supporting the charity that saves lives at sea.
Volunteer shop manager Peter Howard said,
"we’ve taken lots of steps to ensure the shops are safe for both our customers and the volunteers that run them, and we’re delighted to be able to reopen in the run-up to the festive period."
Both stores sell merchandise, gifts and souvenirs and the proceeds will be used to ensure that the RNLI will continue to offer its lifesaving services up and down the Yorkshire Coast.
The shop on King Street will reopen from 10am-4pm on Wednesday 2 December and will be open daily at these times. The Promenade shop will reopen on Friday 4 December from 10am-3:30pm and will also be open daily at these times.
