The Seasiders have now lost four matches on the bounce.
Mike Thompson's men were on their travels but the result was still the same on Saturday.
Brid went behind two minutes before half-time, at Dunston.
The lead was doubled, at the Gateshead side, early in the second half.
This prompted a double change from Thompson and one of the new boys, ex-Whitby and Scarborough striker Jake Day, reduced the arrears on 67 minutes.
However, that's how it stayed as Brid lost out 2-1 in NPL East.
