Bigger GP Surgeries to Future Proof Bridlington Medical Provision

Bigger GP practices are being seen as the way to solve the problem of providing primary care services in Bridlington.

Three of the towns five GP surgeries will be closing next year as they struggle to recruit staff and balance their budgets.

William Uglow from the Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board says the remaining two surgeries are going to be upsized with more funding and more specialist staff to take the pressure of the remaining GP's

A new model of healthcare will be rolled out in Bridlington which will mean some appointments will be dealt with by specialist practitioners rather than a GP.

William Uglow from the Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board says they need a new solution for the town.

As a result of contractual arrangements within the NHS, Field House Surgery, Practice One and Wolds View surgery are expected to cease operating under their current arrangements from Friday 31 March 2023 with patients being transferred over to one of the two remaining practices in Bridlington; Humber Primary Care  (previously Manor House and Practice Two) which is run by Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust (HTFT) or Practice Three which is run by Drs Nunn, Reddy & Reddy.

The NHS say that over the coming months, patients or households registered with these practices will be contacted with details of the transfer arrangements to one of the other practices in Bridlington or another GP practice of their choice, subject to practice catchment areas.
