North Yorkshire County Council is asking residents with loved ones in care homes to plan carefully for any visits over Christmas.
Against the background of the emergence of the new more contagious strain of Coronavirus and the increasing infection rate in the Scarborough Borough, the county council is urging caution over visits to care homes over the Christmas period.
Richard Webb is the council's director of Health and Adult Services
Richard says people who are seeing relatives from care homes over the festive period need to be ensuring they reduce the number of contacts they have with other people now to reduce the risk of infection.
