National Highways say the A64 has now reopened following an earlier closure.
The road was closed between the A1039 and the junction with the A169 on Monday lunchtime as emergency services dealt with a road traffic collision.
They were asking motorists to find alternative routes.

National Highways said at 3:30pm that the road had reopened, they described the incident as:
"A serious collision involving two vehicles."
