The A64 has reopened after a serious collision yesterday.
The A64 had been closed in both directions between the A1237 Hopgrove Roundabout near York and the A169 Eden Camp junction near Malton for several hours on Wednesday. This followed a serious collision involving a car and motorcycle near Crambeck which happened shortly before 2:20pm.
North Yorkshire Police said that the road will be closed for extended period of time as a full collision investigation is required.
At 3:30pm police said it could remain shut for several hours. It reopened overnight.
Road users were diverted on to local routes.
There is no official diversion route available around this section of the A64, therefore road users intending on using this section of road were urged to plan ahead and use alternative routes.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police.
