Police had asked drivers to avoid the area during earlier investigations.
North Yorkshire Police closed the A169 for several hours on Monday as they dealt with what was described as "a collision between Malton and Pickering"
The A169 Malton Road was closed between the A64 interchange and Marishes Low Road
Marishes Lane was also closed.
Diversions were put in place and Police said the roads are likely to be closed for some time, both roads reopened just after 5pm
Eden Camp was one of several local businesses which took the decision to close for the day, in a post on social media the museum team said:
"Unfortunately due to a Road Traffic Accident on the A169 between Pickering and Malton the museum will remain closed for the day 16/06.25.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
The roads are now reopen.
