Visitors to Bridlington's South Cliff Holiday park added £16m to the local economy last year.
That's according to figures from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council who say the area benefited from the staycation boom.
Alex Crutchley is the council's destinations group manager.
The East Riding of Yorkshire Council say that last year's staycation fuelled by lack of availability and disruption in foreign travel presented an opportunity for families to rediscover the UK holiday.
The authority says that:
"South Cliff welcomed 590,000 individual customers during 2021. Based on an average spend of £27 per person per day, £16 million was added into the local economy."
Tourism bosses say that booking numbers remain high for this year but destinations manager Alex Crutchley says they are now seeing the return of foreign holidays begin to have an impact.
