A new initiative aiming to connect businesses and education providers across the maritime and offshore renewables sector is launching across the Yorkshire Coast from Monday.

A formal feasibility study into a proposed visitor levy for North Yorkshire has been recommended to assess its potential economic impact and future governance.

Scarborough and Whitby MP Alison Hume has argued that funds raised from a proposed overnight visitor levy should be reinvested directly back into the coastal communities that generate them.
