Jack and the Beanstalk - Village Pantomime for Burniston and Cloughton

The Burniston and Cloughton Pantomime is about to embark on its 26th panto and this year it’s Jack and the Beanstalk.

Jack is being played by x year old, Scalby School student, Willow Pratt and is supported by local amateur dramatics enthusiasts and school children, includinf Andrew Backhouse as Jack’s long-suffering mother Dame Dotty Dimple and Charlotte Hill as wicked witch Piccalilli.

Packed with lots of laughs and singing – and of course audience participation, this is a great opportunity to enjoy and afternoon or evening with friends and family, enjoying some traditional fun.

The pantomime always takes place in either Februrary or March. The reason stems back to the time when the initial pantomime was performed. At this time, neighbouring Scalby also had a village pantomime in December and the villages didn’t want the productions to clash.

The pantomime is a great starter for children who want to be involved in amateur theatre and all the lead roles in this year’s pantomime are being played by local teenagers.

Burniston and Cloughton’s Pantomime will run from Wednesday 25th February to Saturday 28th February. Performances start at 7pm and there is an additional Saturday matinee at 2pm. Tickets are available online.
